Fields Parkway Paving Nearing Completion

Mike Albanese

Frisco’s Fields Parkway project is nearing completion, promising a vital east-west connection to the Dallas North Tollway by year’s end.

The final piece of paving will see Teel Parkway and FM 423 go from a two-lane road to a four-lane road to the DNT.

Jason Brodigan, the city’s director of engineering, said the project began early 2024 and is on track for completion by the end of year.

He added prior to the paving project, this was a gravel road, and residents haven’t been impacted. A portion of the road was added earlier for crews working on the new Fire Station No. 10 at Fields Parkway and Teel.

The section of Fields Parkway was approved by voter bonds and came in at $13 million.

Looking ahead, the city and developers will continue working on projects on the east side of the DNT — Universal Parkway and Frisco Street.

Brodigan said “everything is progressing as anticipated” on the east side and paving began several weeks ago, with those roadways expected to be completed by late 2024 or early 2025.

Fields West is part of 2,500 contiguous acres spanning the city’s northern border. Aside from PGA of America — a 600-acre campus which opened in 2022 — Universal Kids is being developed east of the DNT, north of Panther Creek Parkway.
